From the moment I unpacked this product, I was curious what kind of power lay in this little "pen". As I was standing in the kitchen, next to a much loved, and oft used coffee pot that had a few stains on it's aging white surface, I dedided to put it to the immediate test. Viola! A little "pen action" and no more stains. I was hooked. I had to know more. What ELSE would it take out? Dared I hope that it would be as effective in the laundry room as in my impromptu test in the kitchen?

Well, yes! Thankfully this little pen delivers on it's promises to be a powerful stain remover. I did run into one recently formed mystery stain that seemed unaffected by this little gem, but it handled several other stains I placed before it beautifully.

This little number costs about $4.99 for about a thrid of a fluid ounce. However, it must be noted that a little goes a fairly long way and after a number of uses, my little stain pen still has a lot of "juice"

As far as company greenness, this company takes extra care to package, produce and ship responsibly, with a constant eye toward safety and responsible earth-care. All of WowGreen's products are 100% non-toxic - a big plus if you have little ones or curious pets in your home. Again, this is not a product that you will be able to find at your favorite neighborhood store, so if you are an old-paradigm shopper ordering online or hunting down a distributor may be more trouble than you're willing to go to to get a good, green clean. BUT, if you are willing to do a little searching for a distributor in your area or a quick online search, you might just be glad you did.

I don't know about you, but in my busy household, the stove can get pretty dirty! Recently, in a flurry of effort to get my stove top sparkling again, I pulled out a sample of Shaklee's Mild Abrasive Scouring Cleanser. I was intreagued from the onset at this mild scented, earth colored scouring paste. I have spent a veritable lifetime  using "conventional" powdered options for abrasive cleaning so a paste was an interesting twist. This product worked like a charm, easily whisking away tough grease splatters and most cooked on crud, however on some of the most difficult "baked on" gunk, a good deal of scrubbing left minimal change.

At approximately $8 and something a bottle for a 9 oz container, I still feel this product is a fairly good deal - it easily takes care of most of the scrubbing that needs to be done, and I feel confident that this product will meet most other household cleaning challenges head-on. (And let's face it - easy cleaning is cleaning that actually gets done!) However, something a little tougher (but still safe enough for stove top use) would have been even better for a stove-cleaning-slacker like me.

For greenness, I give Shaklee a solid 10. This company is cetified as Climate Neutral, makes non-toxic, biodegradeable products, and is partnered with 2004 Nobel Peace Laureate Wangari Maathai to help plant a billion trees world wide. Personally, I think they would be wise to market to supermarkets and other store chains to get their product into the hands of the masses, but for now, you'll have to find an independent Shaklee dealer near you or search online.
